KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the PDW development / project delivery

System Support Lead
Selangor - Petaling Jaya

The role is primarily to:

1)     provide functional and technical expertise to the team. The individual performing this role is expected to provide level 3 support for deep technical issues, provide strong reviews on product design, provide technical governance for changes and look into the maintainability and stability aspect of the system/change being rolled out into production;

2)    ensure availability and reliability of all production applications aligned with his/her subset of applications within a line of business supported by his manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Problem / incident management

  • Primarily responsible for the stability of the production system. Direct second and third level of support  for problem diagnosis and resolution as per the agreed SLA's. Tracks the adherence to SLA's / OLA's.
  • Participates in the Incident and Problem Management processes as a resolver accountable for root cause analysis, resolution and reporting.

Pro-Active/Preventive Maintenance

  • Responsible for identifying and implementing the service improvement programs to improve the overall stability of the application. Identify areas of improvement in monitoring, housekeeping and capacity planning to proactively avoid incidents.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for change within the production environment.
  • Analyze and engineer changes on production systems and participate in task forces where required to improve service quality.

Specification & Review

  • Review the overall design of the projects / enhancements ensuring stability of the application in production is not compromised. include Security, architecture designs
  • Review the functional / technical specifications of the new projects / enhancements.
  • Manage the product specifications and ensure they are updated for new projects / enhancements.
  • Responsible for reviewing surround systems changes / infrastructure changes so that they don't cause production outages.
  • Review the interface specifications for the new projects / enhancements and ensure it does not induce any interface related incidents / problems
  • Ensure the solutions provided by the project teams are adhered to the standards & guidelines

Change/Release Management

  • Responsible for new projects / enhancements changes are clearly reviewed so that they don't introduce any production issues post implementation.

Availability & Capacity

  • Responsible for ensuring the availability of the application as per SLA by looking at various aspects of production systems like capacity, monitoring etc…
  • Responsible for ensuring the system is running at it's optimal capacity and no production issues due to lack of capacity

Knowledge/Documentation/Training

  • Create, Review and update Production Support documentation.
  • Train L1 & L2 resources in the application/products supported  by organizing training sessions .
