Content Writer / Editor

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate can expect to:

  • Work closely with our founder, Product Department and Marketing Department in the development of overall content strategy for iMoney.
  • Write / produce / edit educational content (e.g. blog articles, guides, infographics etc,) on a wide range of topics related to personal finance and money matters.
  • Conduct periodic research and process considerable volume of data on consumer banking & insurance products.
  • Assist with the production of advertorial contents and other write-ups for in-house needs.
  • Assist with the editing of stories and columns contributed by our affiliated sites and/or readers.
  • Assist with the management of third-parties for the purpose of translation and infographic design. 

Requirements:

You would ideally have at least 2 years of working experience, possess adequate knowledge in a range of writing styles, and be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast, dynamic and fun environment.

Desire to learn – Attitude is by far the most important. You need to have a deep desire to learn about subject matters you may not have any knowledge / expertise in. If you have the desire, we can figure everything else out.

A good writer – That means having a great command of English, and being able to clearly articulate an idea while engaging the reader's attention. Bonus points if you know some basic SEO writing.

Simplifying complexities – iMoney is created to serve the interest of every Malaysian. Because not every Malaysian has a background in finance, we see financial jargon as our Number One Enemy. You need to have the ability to breakdown complex jargons into simple, layman's language. That means no big words like financial institution, tenure, or return on investment.

A Diploma or Degree in Mass Communications / Media Studies is ideal. Having experience as a journalist / content writer (particularly in financial / education areas) will definitely give you an edge.

Civil Engineer

Civil engineers create, improve and protect the environment in which we live. They plan, design and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities, such as roads, railways, airports, bridges, harbours, dams, irrigation projects, power plants, water and sewage systems.
