Engineering Applications Engineer
Penang - Batu Kawan

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert assistance and guidance to users of engineering applications and maintain records of support activity. 
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service within the design community.
  • Evaluate engineering application training needs and develop and deliver training to users.  Coordinate training events with external partners.  Assist users in the selection of appropriate online and instructor-led classes.
  • Conduct user group meetings to address specific user concerns and general developmental needs.
  • Provide software application and operating system administration services.
  • Support the data management processes and tools used to vault the data associated with the engineering applications.
  • Partner with Bose Systems Malaysia CIS/MIS to identify issues and deploy solutions.
  • Develop processes that support the engineering development cycle.
  • Work closely with user community to identify areas of improvement related to engineering applications and processes.  Develop, plan, and implement improvements.
  • Develop relationships with regional application providers and leverage their end-user support to address bugs/enhancements, training, and demonstrations of new capabilities.
  • Work closely with corporate Engineering Tools and Systems organization to develop support tools, processes, engineering applications solutions, and licensing needs.
  • Over time, develop basic knowledge of each engineering application used at Bose Systems Malaysia.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of industry experience supporting engineering applications for a product development organization is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience using or supporting one or more of the following engineering applications is required: NX (design and simulation), Windchill, Cadence, Jira, and Matlab.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems with basic system administration skills is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal skills are required.  Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • The ability to manage and coordinate several projects simultaneously is required.
  • The ability to resolve complex problems and to work proactively and independently is required.
  • The ability to work well in cross-functional teams is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.
  • Working knowledge of at least one computer programming or scripting language is a plus.
  • Product development experience is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering
